Job summary

The NYC Financial Information Services Agency – Office of Payroll Administration (FISA-OPA) is seeking a WebSphere Administrator to maintain middleware infrastructure and support HR/payroll systems rollout. You will configure and manage WebSphere, MQ, and Cognos in a 24x7 enterprise environment.

We value 5+ years in middleware, strong problem solving, and the ability to work independently while collaborating across teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Middleware Administration experience with IBM WebSphere tWAS and WebSphere Liberty on Linux/UNIX.
• Experience configuring server.xml, bootstrap.properties, and jvm.options.
• Experience with Git for source control and Ansible for automation.
• Familiarity with Jenkins/CI-CD tools and DevOps practices.
• Experience administering IBM MQ, IBM HTTP Server, IBM WebSphere Message Broker, Oracle WebLogic, Cognos.
• Strong SQL skills and understanding of relational databases.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and upgrade middleware infrastructure and perform patch installations.
• Support production systems and 24x7 operations including nights/weekends.
• Collaborate with multiple teams to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.
• Document issues, symptoms, and solutions clearly.
