  • Training teachers and staff on how to create and manage teacher and group pages.
  • Managing the school's website calendar.
  • Managing and posting to the school's social media accounts (Facebook and Twitter).
  • Managing and updating photos and photo slideshows on the school's site according to district standards.
  • Sharing at least one story per month with the School District 308 Communications Department featuring an event, students or staff from the school (no more than 150 words).
  • Serving as the school's primary contact for all building-level questions regarding the website.
  • Attend training, webinars and informational sessions as needed (monthly/quarterly).
  • Receiving and sharing tips, issues and topics of discussion amongst all district web page masters.
  • Writing and editing content for school's website.
  • Designing webpage layout (as needed).
  • Determining technical requirements.
  • Updating school website.
  • Creating backup files.

Job description

Each school will have a designated School Webmaster to manage the school's website and individual web pages, following the website redesign. The School Webmaster will be responsible for managing their school's web page in accordance with School District 308 Web and Communications Standards. The position will pay a stipend (Schedule A, Category 2) and be appointed by the school's principal.
