Job summary

The Sheridan Group in Minnesota is hiring for a 2nd shift Press Operator trainee. You will work with the press operator to run high-speed printing equipment, load paper, and monitor fountain solution, helping to keep production moving.

No bindery experience is required; we will train you. We’re seeking reliable, mechanically inclined individuals who can read basic instructions and measurements, work well with a team, and take pride in quality work.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Mechanically inclined and able to use basic tools.
• Able to read basic job instructions and measurements (decimals, sizes, etc.)
• Take pride in doing quality work.

This is a 2nd shift position - working Monday - Friday, 2:30 PM - 11 PM with potential for overtime hours.

What You’ll Do

• Work with Press Operator to aid in the operation of the printing press.
• Ensure paper is loaded and monitor pH and conductivity of fountain solution on presses.
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Troubleshoot minor issues and keep production moving.
• Follow safety procedures and help maintain a clean, organized workspace.

What We’re Looking For

No bindery experience? No problem—we’ll train you.We’re looking for people who:

• Are at least 18 years of age.
• Have a High School Diploma, or GED.
• Are mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic tools.
• Can read basic job instructions and measurements (decimals, sizes, etc.)
• Take pride in doing quality work.
• Show up reliably and work well with a team.

It’s a plus if you have:

• Print, bindery, or finishing experience.
• Experience setting up or adjusting production equipment.
• Graphic arts and/or technical school background.

Physical & Work Environment

Work is performed in a factory environment with regular exposure to dust, dirt, noise, and the physical hazards of machinery, plus some exposure to fumes, oils, lubricants, and chemicals.

Safety toe shoes and hearing protection required.

On your feet for most of the shift

Ability to lift, carry, push and/or pull 50lbs.
