Job summary

Stanford University is seeking a web designer to design and maintain our site across devices. You will collaborate with senior designers, create web graphics, and implement improvements for usability and consistency with brand guidelines.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, strong HTML/CSS skills, and the ability to work with IT Services and accessibility teams to ensure policy compliance. This is a full-time on-site position at Stanford.

Qualifications

• Good working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
• Ability to use desktop web content authoring and editing tools.
• Familiarity with usability testing and QA practices.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior designers and content experts to organize, display, and build new website content for web consumption.
• Produce images and graphics for optimal viewing on all supported devices.
• Recommend and implement improvements to usability and overall web properties.
• Apply approved color palettes and templates to websites.
• Present design ideas and iterate through reviews.
• Assist with UI design for on-brand, cohesive web applications.
• Work with IT Services and accessibility staff to ensure compliance with policies.
