ASU Enterprise Partners is seeking a Web Designer for the ASU Outreach Hub to craft accessible, high-quality web experiences for diverse audiences. Responsibilities include wireframes, prototypes, responsive layouts, and production-ready specs in collaboration with developers and content strategists.

The role emphasizes WCAG compliance, SEO considerations, and strong visual design across desktop, tablet, and mobile with a hybrid work arrangement in Tempe, AZ.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and five years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; or any equivalent combination of experience and/or training with comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Strong portfolio showing high-quality website and digital interface design experience.
  • Proficiency in Figma and modern design collaboration tools.
  • Experience creating wireframes, prototypes, responsive page layouts, and production-ready website designs.
  • Working knowledge of accessibility standards and responsive design principles.
  • Experience collaborating with developers and cross-functional creative or marketing teams.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Create wireframes, page layouts, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for websites, landing pages, applications, and digital outreach campaigns.
  • Design responsive experiences optimized for desktop, tablet, and mobile.
  • Translate approved creative direction, business requirements, content, and audience needs into intuitive, visually compelling web experiences.
  • Apply strong visual design principles (layout, typography, hierarchy, imagery, and digital storytelling).
  • Build reusable interface components and patterns aligned with established brand and web standards.
  • Prepare production-ready design specifications and assets for web developers.
  • Design specialized digital interfaces, including experiences that may incorporate AI-powered content or tools.
  • Use UX and usability best practices to guide page-level design decisions and interaction patterns.
  • Develop page-level content hierarchies, user flows, and navigation recommendations within approved requirements.
  • Inform design decisions using audience research, analytics insights, stakeholder input, and established personas or journeys.
  • Participate in usability reviews or testing as needed and apply findings to design refinements.
  • Partner with the Creative Director to ensure web design aligns with campaign strategy, brand standards, and creative direction.
  • Collaborate with the web developer to support design feasibility, implementation quality, and design fidelity.
  • Work with content strategists to align content and design execution.
  • Participate in project discovery, creative brief development, design reviews, and stakeholder presentations.
  • Communicate the rationale for design decisions and incorporate feedback constructively.
  • Manage multiple assignments and deliver high-quality work within project timelines and priorities.
  • Maintain organized, accurate, production-ready design files, components, and assets.
  • Design to meet WCAG accessibility standards and inclusive design best practices.
  • Apply usability, responsive design, SEO, performance, and conversion considerations during design execution.
  • Support the evolution of web design patterns, component libraries, and design standards with the Creative Director and web developer
