Job summary

onX is seeking a Web Software Engineer III to build and scale hunter-focused web experiences on the Hunt team. You’ll own features from ideation to delivery, collaborating with Product, Design, QA, and engineers across teams to create cohesive, high-quality customer experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of professional software development with at least 2 years in web client development.
• Strong foundation in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML/CSS, and browser fundamentals.
• Experience with frontend frameworks such as Vue, React, or Angular.
• Experience with REST APIs and/or Apollo Client with GraphQL.
• Experience writing unit tests with Jest or Vitest.
• Ownership mindset and ability to deliver results.
• Collaborative, mentorship-oriented, customer-focused attitude.
• Willingness to contribute to other platforms when needed.
• Curiosity for new technologies, including AI, and alignment with onX values.
• Permanent US work authorization and ability to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Build, support, and evolve web products for hunters using TypeScript, Vue, GraphQL (Apollo Client), and Mapbox.
• Own solutions from ideation through delivery, shaping architecture, performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Partner with Product, Design, QA, and engineers across teams to deliver cohesive experiences and manage cross-team dependencies.
• Run and instrument A/B tests and feature rollouts with Split, Eppo, and Amplitude to inform decisions.
• Raise quality through design reviews, mentoring, and frontend best practices across teams.
• Monitor production health and triage incidents affecting web experiences.
• Write unit and end-to-end tests using Jest, Vitest, Cypress, and/or Playwright.
• Explore embedding AI as a repeatable co-pilot in workflows with sound judgment and validation.
