Job summary

Starbucks Coffee Company is hiring an Software Engineer II, Web to build and maintain customer-facing web experiences on Starbucks.com and Starbucks.ca. You will work across a JavaScript/TypeScript stack (React/Redux, Node.js/Express, Next.js, SvelteKit) in collaboration with designers, product managers, and other engineers to ship accessible, performant features.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional experience building production web applications.
• Proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks/libraries such as React, Redux, Node.js/Express, Next.js, and familiarity with or willingness to learn SvelteKit.
• Experience with component-based UI architecture, RESTful/GraphQL APIs, and CSS (including CSS Modules or utility-first frameworks like Tailwind).
• Working knowledge of web accessibility standards (WCAG), including semantic HTML, ARIA patterns, keyboard navigation, and accessible forms.
• Experience with unit/integration testing (e.g. Vitest) and version control workflows (Git/GitHub).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure) and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain features across our web applications, integrating with GraphQL and REST/OpenAPI backend services.
• Write well-tested, maintainable code and participate in code reviews, following established team conventions for state management, routing, and component architecture.
• Partner with cross-functional teammates to troubleshoot issues, debug production incidents, and improve application performance and reliability.
