Job summary

Starbucks Coffee Company in Seattle seeks a Senior Application Developer to join the Data & Analytics Hub. You will help design and evolve a unified internal web platform, build scalable APIs, and mentor teammates on modern web practices.

Collaborate with data engineers, architecture, and devOps to deliver secure, performant tools that empower decision-making across the enterprise. A strong full-stack background and leadership mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong hands-on full stack web development expertise.
• Deep understanding of React design patterns, components, and modular code.
• Excellent Node.js/Express API development experience.
• Proficiency in TypeScript and GraphQL for APIs.
• Experience with HTML5, CSS and modern JS frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with MongoDB, Cosmos DB, SQL Server, or equivalent.
• Solid understanding of UI/UX, responsive design, accessibility and performance.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions).
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy and support internal web framework for data operations.
• Build modern, responsive UIs aligned with Starbucks design standards.
• Develop scalable APIs and backend services using modern frameworks.
• Translate UX designs into production-ready code.
• Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and data governance requirements.
• Build and maintain shared UI components and services.
• Collaborate with designers, data engineering, architecture, and devOps.
• Provide technical leadership and coaching to peers on best practices.
