Job summary

DataAnnotation seeks an experienced Web Designer - AI Trainer to craft realistic design briefs and assess frontier AI tool outputs against standards. This onsite, contract role in The Woodlands, TX offers project flexibility and autonomy over your schedule and chosen tasks.

You will draft prompts, run AI design tools, evaluate results, and critique interfaces, typography, and visual systems across multiple media. Strong design fluency and clear reasoning are essential.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English at native or bilingual level.
• Background in UI/UX design, web design, product design, or graphic design.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Design realistic, challenging visual design briefs based on your professional experience.
• Test briefs using frontier AI design tools and evaluate outputs against the standards you would apply to a peer.
• Compare two model versions using identical prompts and assets, selecting which performed better and identifying where each fell short.
• Critique AI-generated interfaces, mockups, layouts, slides, infographics, illustrations, and motion output.
• Document concrete failures with evidence, including alignment and spacing issues, content overflow or cutoff, typography problems, weak visual hierarchy, SVG and illustration quality concerns, ignored assets, and off-brief interpretations.
• Contribute across multiple disciplines, including software and interactive design, office and presentation design, technical illustration, graphic design, and new media.

DataAnnotation is seeking an experienced Web Designer - AI Trainer to help create realistic visual design briefs and assess frontier AI design tool outputs against professional standards. This contract role is based onsite in The Woodlands, TX, with the flexibility to choose which projects you work on and when.

You’ll work with your own expertise to draft challenging design prompts, run them through AI design tools, and evaluate results with the same rigor you would expect from a colleague. The work spans interface and layout critique, typography and visual system checks, and review of presentation, infographic, illustration, and motion deliverables.

Requirements

• Fluency in English at native or bilingual level.
• Background in UI/UX design, web design, product design, or graphic design.
• Strong understanding of visual hierarchy, layout, typography, interaction design, and user flow.
• Ability to clearly explain why a design fails, not only that it fails.
• Comfort working with AI design tools, or the ability to learn them quickly.
• A Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required (current, in progress, or completed).
