Job summary

AM Digital Designs is seeking a Web Designer for a contract/project-based role (1099) based in the Lawrence, MA area. You will translate brand guidelines into visually compelling, responsive marketing websites that drive conversions, bridging design and implementation.

You will design in Figma, implement in WordPress/Elementor (Webflow/Shopify a plus), and optimize assets for performance and accessibility. Remote-first with hybrid options, compensation $35–$50 per hour or per project.

Qualifications

About the Role

Our Web Designers are the architects of our clients' primary digital storefronts. You will take approved brand guidelines and weave them into beautiful, functional, and highly responsive marketing websites that tell a compelling story and drive customer conversions. You bridge the gap between pure visual design and technical web execution.

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:

• Design Web Layouts: Create stunning, highly responsive homepage and interior page layouts in Figma that guide the user journey and emphasize conversion points.
• CMS Implementation: Work directly within platforms like WordPress, Shopify, or Webflow to apply themes, style CSS, and build out digital spaces without breaking existing brand rules.
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with Content Strategists to ensure copy flows perfectly within the layout, and hand off complex technical requirements to our Full-Stack Developers.
• Asset Optimization: Ensure all web graphics, videos, and photography are properly compressed, tagged, and formatted for lightning-fast Core Web Vitals and accessibility compliance.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

• 4–6 years of dedicated web design experience, with a strong portfolio of live, responsive websites you have designed and launched.
• Deep understanding of responsive design principles, grid systems, web typography, and modern UI patterns.
• Hands-on familiarity with HTML/CSS and popular CMS page builders (WordPress/Elementor is a must; Webflow or Shopify is a strong plus).
• The ability to translate a static Figma mockup into a live, breathing staging environment.

Bonus points if you have:

• Understanding of basic technical SEO principles (H1 structures, meta tagging).

$35–$50/hr, or flat per-project rates (e.g., $800–$2,500 depending on page count and complexity). Remote-first flexibility with a highly collaborative team.
