Job Type: Staff Job Description:

The Web Content Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and optimization of KCU's website, ensuring content provides a clear, accessible and engaging user experience while supporting institutional priorities and KCU’s brand. Working under the guidance of the University Relations supervisor, the Web Content Manager implements website content strategy and priorities and participates in governance, publishing workflows, content quality, SEO, accessibility, analytics and user experience. The position serves as a primary resource for faculty, staff and other content contributors while collaborating with the Director of Web Services and IT on technical functionality, security and website infrastructure.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage the day-to-day content operations of KCU’s website, ensuring content is accurate, current, accessible, user-friendly and aligned with KCU’s brand and institutional priorities. Implement website content strategy and priorities in collaboration with the University Relations supervisor and key stakeholders. Maintain website content standards, governance practices and publishing procedures. Manage content requests, publishing workflows and content ownership across departments. Conduct regular content audits and manage the content lifecycle, including updating, consolidating, archiving and retiring outdated or redundant content. Provide guidance to faculty, staff and other content contributors on web content best practices.

Content Writing, Editing & SEO

Create, edit and publish engaging, accurate and on-brand website content, including web pages, news, blogs, program information and other content as assigned. Optimize web content for SEO and collaborate with subject matter experts to develop content supporting institutional priorities, recruitment and community impact.

User Experience & Accessibility

Evaluate website content, structure and navigation from a user-centered perspective and recommend improvements. Ensure web content follows established accessibility standards and best practices. Collaborate with the Director of Web Services and IT on technical accessibility, functionality and usability needs.

Analytics & Optimization

Monitor and analyze website performance using tools such as Google Analytics and Google Search Console. Use analytics, search data and user behavior to evaluate content effectiveness and identify opportunities to improve website performance and user experience. Develop reports and recommendations for the University Relations supervisor and other stakeholders to inform website improvements and institutional priorities.

CMS, Technology & Collaboration

Manage website content within KCU’s content management system, including pages, navigation and content components. Collaborate with the Director of Web Services and IT on website functionality, security, integrations and infrastructure. Participate in website redesigns, content migrations and other digital projects as assigned. Serve as a resource to University departments on website content needs and best practices. Support other University Relations initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in web development, digital marketing, communications or a related field. Experience managing website content, preferably in a higher education, health care or non-profit setting. Experience working with content management systems and web platforms such as WordPress, Drupal, Omni CMS or similar systems.

Skills and Competencies Strong understanding of website content management, SEO, analytics and user experience principles. Familiarity with web accessibility standards and content practices. Working knowledge of HTML and CSS. Strong writing, editing, organizational, problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable recommendations. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teams.

Requires physical ability to routinely lift a maximum of 25 pounds; ability to bend, reach and stand for extended periods of time.
