Kansas City University is seeking a Software Engineer to partner with university constituents, design systems, and optimize server-side functionality for database applications. You will lead architectural decisions, own features end-to-end, and collaborate across Agile teams to deliver scalable solutions.
The role requires strong expertise in C#, .NET, SQL Server, RESTful APIs, and modern UI skills (React). Expect a dynamic, campus-focused environment with emphasis on security and performance.

Job Description: The Software Engineer will be responsible for partnering with university constituents to meet database needs; conducting thorough and timely research on database applications; and ensuring optimal server side functionality for database applications and relational database management servers.
Ability to lead technical design discussions and make architecture decisions aligned with business goals.
Proven ability to own features end-to-end, from design through deployment and support.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to debug complex production issues across multiple system layers.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and collaborating cross-functionally with business owners and teams.
Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate a keyboard and other office equipment, use a telephone, access file cabinets and other items stored at various levels, including overhead
Ability to speak and hear well enough to communicate clearly and understandably with sufficient volume to ensure an accurate exchange of information in normal conversational distance, over the telephone, and in a group setting
Ability to continuously operate a personal computer for extended periods of time (4 or more hours)
Mental acuity sufficient to collect and interpret data, evaluate, reason, define problems, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, make valid judgments and decisions
