Job summary

The American Bankers Association (ABA) in Washington, DC offers a paid internship for undergraduates 7 weeks long, with a June–August 2027 schedule. The program is onsite at least two days per week and provides substantial work across ABA divisions, leadership exposure, and a strong professional network.

Interns work on website migrations, content governance, UX considerations, and content optimization while developing practical skills in CMS, HTML/CSS, IA, and accessibility.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a rising junior or senior in college/university with expected graduation between Dec 2027 and May 2029.
• Experience with WordPress or Drupal CMS.
• Proficient in HTML and CSS.
• Ability to follow established protocols with attention to detail.
• Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
• Knowledge of information architecture (IA) and basic UX principles.

Responsibilities

• Support website migration and content governance by inventorying, reviewing, organizing, and validating content.
• Maintain and update website content to support ABA initiatives, events, and communications.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and web team to gather requirements and develop recommendations.
• Monitor content and performance metrics; identify opportunities to improve UX and engagement.
• Conduct website audits to resolve broken links, accessibility issues, and formatting errors.
• Apply SEO, UX, and design standards to ensure consistent user experience across digital properties.
• Assist with UX research and testing activities and document findings.
