Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a seasoned IT professional to support FDOT District 2 applications, including public-facing and client-facing systems. You will work with C#, ASP.NET MVC, SQL Server, and Power Platform to develop, troubleshoot, and enhance web apps.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, maintain documentation, and support deployments in an IIS/Windows Server environment, ensuring stability and secure operations. 5–10 years of relevant experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in web apps, SharePoint, Power Platform, or related fields.
  • 5–10 years of professional experience in development, support, or modernization of web apps.
  • Experience with C#, ASP.NET MVC, .NET, Visual Studio, SQL Server, and Entity Framework preferred.
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, and responsive design.
  • Git basics: branching, committing, merging, and pull requests.
  • Experience with SharePoint Online, Power Apps, Power Automate, Forms, and Microsoft 365 connectors.
  • Experience supporting production applications in controlled environments is preferred.
  • Basic SQL knowledge and relational database concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Support FDOT District 2 public-facing, internal, and client-facing apps and systems.
  • Provide application support across .NET web apps, SharePoint Online, Power Apps, Power Automate, Forms, and 365 processes.
  • Assist with developing web apps using C#, ASP.NET MVC, .NET, SQL Server, and EF.
  • Implement new features, fix defects, and improve usability and maintainability.
  • Support legacy systems, document behavior, and minimize production disruption.
  • Develop and maintain SQL data models, queries, and integrations.
  • Create and troubleshoot SharePoint lists, libraries, permissions, views, and forms.
  • Develop and troubleshoot Power Apps/Power Automate flows, including connectors and notifications.
  • Support front-end development with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, and responsive design.
  • Use Visual Studio for development, debugging, testing, and maintenance of web apps.
  • Use Git and participate in PR workflows; assist with IIS/Windows Server deployments and configurations.
  • Diagnose issues across app, web server, database, and browser layers; respond to production requests.
  • Coordinate with FDOT admins on access, environment, security, deployment, and tenant issues.
  • Collaborate with teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions; maintain technical/process docs.

Job description

  • Support the Technology Solutions team in maintaining, troubleshooting, and enhancing FDOT District 2 public-facing, internal, and client-facing applications and business systems
  • Provide application support across .NET web applications, SharePoint Online, Power Apps, Power Automate, Microsoft Forms, and Microsoft 365 business processes
  • Assist with developing web applications using C#, ASP.NET MVC, .NET, SQL Server, and Entity Framework
  • Implement new features, resolve defects, and improve functionality, usability, and maintainability in existing codebases
  • Support inherited and legacy systems by learning configurations, documenting behavior, fulfilling enhancement requests, and minimizing production disruption
  • Develop and maintain database queries, data models, and integrations using SQL Server, Entity Framework, and LINQ
  • Create, maintain, and troubleshoot SharePoint lists, libraries, permissions, views, forms, and Microsoft 365 data sources
  • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot Power Apps and Power Automate flows, including connectors, triggers, permissions, ownership, error handling, and notifications
  • Support front-end development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, and responsive web design
  • Use Visual Studio to develop, debug, test, and maintain web applications
  • Use Git-based source control and participate in pull request workflows
  • Assist with deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting applications hosted in Microsoft IIS and Windows Server
  • Diagnose issues across application, web server, database, and browser layers
  • Respond to production support requests, triage defects, investigate root causes, coordinate fixes, document resolutions, and communicate status
  • Coordinate with FDOT technology administrators and stakeholders on access, environment, security, deployment, and tenant-specific issues
  • Collaborate with developers, analysts, project managers, FDOT staff, and technical team members to understand requirements and deliver solutions
  • Prepare and maintain technical and process documentation
  • Follow standards for coding, testing, source control, security, accessibility, documentation, and application support
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Web Development, Data Science, or a related technical field; or equivalent practical experience developing, maintaining, or supporting web applications, SharePoint solutions, Power Platform solutions, or related business systems
  • Preferred 5-10 years of professional experience
  • Experience developing, maintaining, or troubleshooting web applications through coursework, internships, personal projects, or professional experience
  • Experience or familiarity with C#, ASP.NET MVC, .NET, Visual Studio, SQL Server, and Entity Framework or Entity Framework Core is preferred
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, and responsive web design
  • Basic experience with Git and source-control repository workflows, including branching, committing, merging, and pull requests
  • Exposure to IIS, Windows Server, application deployments, or web server configuration is preferred
  • Experience or familiarity with SharePoint Online, Microsoft Lists, Power Apps, Power Automate, Microsoft Forms, Microsoft 365 connectors, and SharePoint-backed business workflows is preferred
  • Experience supporting production applications, troubleshooting user-reported issues, documenting fixes, and working with client IT teams or controlled government technology environments is preferred
  • Familiarity with Linux, Node.js, npm, PostgreSQL, REST APIs, or CI/CD practices is helpful but not required
  • Ability to understand and work within an existing codebase while making careful, well-documented changes
  • Basic understanding of object-oriented programming, web application architecture, database-driven applications, and the software development lifecycle
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues across application, database, server, and browser layers
  • Ability to work in client-controlled environments where access, permissions, VPN, security, deployment, and system-owner coordination may affect delivery
  • Familiarity with relational database concepts and ability to write and understand basic SQL queries
  • Basic understanding of responsive design, browser compatibility, usability, and web accessibility practices
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, documentation, and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and comfortable collaborating with technical professionals
  • Comfortable communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders, asking clarifying questions, documenting decisions, and providing clear status updates
