Job summary

Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) seeks a Web Developer / Web Accessibility Specialist to audit, remediate, and maintain web content for ADA Title II and WCAG 2.1/2.2 compliance. The role blends SharePoint development with accessibility work in a hybrid setup, onsite 3 days and remote 2 days each week.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree plus 2+ years in webmaster or accessibility roles, with strong knowledge of ARIA, WCAG, and Section 508.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT/Web development or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of professional experience as a Webmaster, Front-End Developer, or Web Accessibility Specialist.
• Experience with SharePoint Online/SharePoint Server.
• Knowledge of ADA Title II, WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA, WAI-ARIA, and Section 508.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive accessibility audits on public websites, portals, and web apps.
• Remediate accessibility issues to WCAG 2.1 AA/2.2 and Section 508 standards.
• Manage and develop within GDOT’s SharePoint environment and integrate accessible templates.
• Collaborate with content creators, IT personnel, and vendors to enforce accessibility best practices.
