Job summary

Merchants Metals is seeking a Machine Operator – Weaving to operate and monitor weaving machinery in a non-climate-controlled production environment. You will be responsible for pulling rolls, building pallets, and ensuring efficient material replenishment while maintaining safety protocols.

The role requires standing, walking, and handling physically demanding tasks with PPE. Schedule is Monday–Saturday with 5:00 AM–5:00 PM shifts, averaging 40–50 hours per week.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing, production, warehouse, or industrial environment preferred.
• Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment, including significant heat in the summer and cold in the winter.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding, hands-on production job.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor weaving machines to produce finished products.
• Pull completed rolls from weaving machines and build pallets for products.
• Replenish production materials and maintain take-up/packaging areas.
• Change and weld wire for weaving machines and adjust blades as needed.
• Perform autonomous maintenance on turret system and ensure guards are in place.
• Identify and correct weaving and machine issues, including nest issues between systems.
• Follow safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
