Job summary

New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal seeks a trainer/TA specialist to advance weatherization policies and programs. You will support HCR staff and subgrantees with training and energy audit guidance, using central systems and audit software to improve performance.

The role includes travel up to 50% to deliver on-site training and to monitor program implementation, with emphasis on safety, efficiency, and compliance with NYS and DOE requirements.

Qualifications

• Six years of experience analyzing data related to the development and implementation of policies associated with housing programs.
• Experience guiding the public including builders, sponsors, community organizations, local officials, landlords and tenants.

Responsibilities

• Gain familiarity with weatherization policies, procedures and DOE and NYS rules.
• Provide training and technical assistance to HCR staff and weatherization subgrantees.
• Identify and develop trainings with HCR T&TA unit and field staff.
• Respond promptly to training requests from HCR staff and subgrantees.
• Assist with on-site trainings of diagnostic equipment and energy audits.
