Job summary

Oak Ridge National Laboratory seeks a technical professional focused on residential energy audit development, weatherization program R&D, and training. The role emphasizes improving WA Helpdesk, refining audit tools, and supporting WAP training networks across grantees and providers.

Responsibilities include evaluating program efficacy, conducting research on savings and safe weatherization practices, and delivering written reports and talks to sponsors and partners. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering or related discipline with relevant program experience.
• MS in a scientific/engineering or related discipline with required years of experience.
• Experience with buildings energy efficiency programs and weatherization.

Responsibilities

• Lead improvements to the WA Helpdesk platform, including automation enhancements.
• Identify and specify improvements to the audit tool suite and oversee their development.
• Support the transition of NEAT and MHEA to Energy‑Plus in WAP tools.
• Provide technical assistance and training resources to WAP providers, grantees, and WAweb users.
• Write and present technical reports and conference papers on applied research.
• Collaborate with program managers and sponsors on new weatherization initiatives.
