Job summary

The Corporation for Ohio Appalachian Development (COAD) seeks a Training Specialist to develop and deliver training content in weatherization, energy efficiency, lead, and HVAC for participants across Ohio. You will prepare lessons, assess learner progress, and provide in-field support to COAD training contracts, helping ensure curricula meet standards and credential requirements.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of residential construction terminology and techniques.
• Ability to interact with all socio-economic groups and respond promptly to students' needs.
• Experience in construction/weatherization and training is preferred.
• HVAC Experience 608 Certification is a plus.
• Strong verbal communication and writing skills; ability to develop curricula.
• Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Willingness to attend classes, meetings, seminars and related training.

Responsibilities

• Confer with staff and advisory groups to align teaching areas with credentials and learning supports.
• Review educational materials and recommend additional resources to meet standards.
• Assist in developing objectives, lesson plans, teaching aids, and testing methods.
• Conduct training courses for COAD’s in-state customers and evaluate progress.
• Provide in-field technical assistance and follow-up visits for training contracts.
• Promote COAD programs and services and uphold a positive public image.
