Job summary

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and maintenance, and the position is located in Sheboygan within the Manitowoc, Sheboygan and Ozaukee counties service area. The Weatherization Technician performs insulation tasks, installs vents and weather-stripping, and carries out energy measures alongside basic

Qualifications

• Willing to learn home improvement and weatherization techniques.
• Ability to read and decipher work orders; basic math for construction estimation.
• Able to interact well with diverse personalities.
• Physically able to work in demanding environments and extreme weather.
• Able to use ladders and work at heights up to four stories.
• Able to work in confined spaces such as attics and crawl spaces.
• Must lift and carry up to 60 lbs; valid Wisconsin driver’s license and auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Weatherize and rehab customers' homes including insulation in attics, sidewalls, and floors.
• Install vents and weather-stripping; perform energy efficiency measures.
• Complete basic home repair tasks as needed.

Job Duties

The Weatherization Technician performs duties that relate to rehabilitation and weatherization of customers’ homes. These duties include, but are not limited to, insulation of attics, insulation of sidewalls and floors, installation of vents, weather-stripping and other weatherization, home repair and energy measures.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Willing to learn home improvement and weatherization/insulation techniques, and how to use diagnostic equipment to assess the energy efficiency of a home.
• Ability and willingness to learn to read and decipher work orders and conduct basic math related to construction and material estimation.
• Ability to interact well with diverse personalities.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in demanding environments and extreme weather conditions.
• Ability to use ladders and work at heights of up to four (4) stories.
• Ability to work for extended periods of time in confined spaces such as attics and crawl spaces.
• Able to lift and carry up to 60 lbs.
• A valid Wisconsin driver’s license, auto insurance, and a good driving record.
