Job summary

University of Kansas Weather Lab Manager is responsible for supporting meteorological data collection and maintaining technical operations within the Department. The role ensures daily cooperative weather observations are accurately recorded and reported to the National Weather Service from the campus observation site.

The manager also oversees the MACH computer lab, ensuring computers and printers function properly and issues are communicated to system administrators.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read weather instruments, as indicated in application materials.
• Experience or coursework in atmospheric science preferred and related studies.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the MACH computer lab, ensuring that computers and printers are functioning properly and that any issues are reported to system administrators.
• Responsible for ensuring that cooperative meteorological observations are taken daily on campus and reported to the National Weather Service.
