Job summary

Metropolitan Community College-Kansas City is seeking an HVAC Lab Support staff member to coordinate equipment, components, and activities across ten HVAC/R laboratories. You will assist with classroom monitoring, troubleshooting, repairs, configuration, and purchasing of equipment and supplies.

The role involves maintaining laboratory spaces, ordering parts, and ensuring safety and compliance while supporting instructors and students in HVAC/R training environments.

Qualifications

• Associates degree related to the assigned program.
• 1 year related experience in HVAC/R industry or laboratory support.
• Minimum Education Qualification can be substituted with an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with instruction of proper techniques in the proper use, operation and maintenance of HVAC/R systems.
• Assist instructors with students during laboratory exercises to enhance learning outcomes.
• Maintain all laboratory spaces in a professional condition.
• Research, order, receive and stock HVAC/R tools, parts, materials and supplies for ten HVAC/R labs.
• Ensure HVAC/R systems and training equipment are serviced and repaired to maintain operational laboratories.
• Maintain records for budget and purchasing constraints (quotes, requisitions, PO, receipts).
• Coordinate with Program Coordinator for timely reconciliation of department P-card expenditures.
