Ameren Illinois seeks a motivated Meteorology Intern to support the Crisis Management team. Qualifications

• This role requires pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in meteorology, atmospheric science, climatology, geography, environmental science, or emergency management.
• Coursework in meteorology and forecast analysis is preferred.
• Familiarity with weather data tools and forecasting concepts is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily weather forecasts and weather products impacting utility operations.
• Prepare daily weather briefings and storm outlooks for situational awareness.
• Analyze forecast models, radar imagery, and meteorological data for operational impacts.
• Support weather monitoring during severe events and emergencies.
• Assist with historical weather research and post-event analyses.
• Correlate weather information with outage data and operational metrics.
• Enhance weather intelligence capabilities within dashboards and AI platforms.
• Explore emerging weather technologies and decision-support resources.
• Collaborate across crisis management, emergency preparedness, and utility operations.
