Job summary

Sesame AI in San Francisco is seeking a hands-on Electrical Engineering Technician to assemble, debug, and maintain prototypes and evaluation systems for our wearable machine perception platform.

You will collaborate with engineers and fabrication vendors, operate and refine benchtop test equipment, and develop build and debug procedures while managing lab space, inventory, and documentation with meticulous attention to detail.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on experience in consumer electronics or related field.
• Fine-pitch soldering and reflow mastery down to 01005/QFN/BGA 300 µm pitch.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Ability to select and operate benchtop test equipment.
• Experience executing test plans for electrical systems.
• Basic understanding of firmware or software test scripts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organization.
• Proactive ability and interest in solving technical challenges outside your areas of expertise.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, test, debug, and rework compact electro-mechanical systems with fine-pitch components.
• Order, use, and maintain oscilloscopes, power supplies, DMMs, spectrum analyzers, and testers.
• Develop and maintain build and debug procedures for prototypes.
• Operate and debug automated component test and data collection systems.
• Engage and manage fabrication vendors for components, PCBs, and parts.
• Manage lab space, equipment, supplies, and inventory.
