Job summary

Sesame is seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Engineer to own the mechanical architecture and design for wearable hardware. You will lead the ME aspects across form factor, thermal design, and integration with sensors, batteries, and optics, coordinating with ID and electronics teams.

The role requires strong prototyping skills, knowledge of materials, and a track record of shipping wearable electronics with cosmetic considerations. Travel for product prototyping may be required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of product design experience.
• 4+ years in wearable product design.
• Experience with complex electromechanical integration in small forms.
• Knowledge of plastics, metals, adhesives, and glass.
• Experience shipping products in lead or principal roles.
• Expert CAD and mechanical simulation skills.
• Knowledge of high-volume manufacturing (stamping, machining, 3D printing, injection molding).
• BS or MS in ME or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, simulate, prototype, and ship mechanical systems for wearables.
• Create models, drawings, simulations, and specs for partners and manufacturers.
• Collaborate with Electrical, Firmware, ID, and soft goods teams to solve integration challenges.
• Identify and manage materials and fabrication partners.
• Travel as needed for development and prototyping.
