Job summary

Kestra Medical Technologies, Inc. in La Jolla, CA is seeking a contract ASSURE Patient Specialist (APS) to fit and train local patients with a wearable defibrillator. You will be trained and certified as an APS by Kestra, working with prescribers, caregivers, and patients to schedule services.

This paid per fitting position requires travel to hospitals and patient homes, plus ability to manage fittings, inventory, and confidential information. Daytime, evening, and weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications

• 1 year in a paid patient care experience
• Clinical or engineering background in healthcare (nurses, cardiac device sales, clinical engineers, cath lab techs, PAs, ECG techs)
• Disclosure of personal NPI number (if applicable)
• Background check completion (level 2 screening for Florida and Ohio)
• Ability to pay for vendor credentialing during a 90-day probation
• Experience in patient and/or clinician education
• Valid driver’s license in state of residence with good driving record
• Credentialing for hospital system entry
• Documentation of vaccination/immunization status
• Pass background check
• Pass drug screening
• Review and agree to hospital policies and procedures
• Completion of online courses (HIPAA, Bloodborne Pathogens, Electrical/Fire Safety)

Responsibilities

• Fit and train local patients with a wearable defibrillator via dispatch from corporate HQ
• Provide instruction with confidence to Assure patients
• Contact prescribers, caregivers and patients to schedule services
• Accept assignments including daytime, evening, and weekend hours
• Travel to hospitals and patients' homes for fittings
• Measure patient garments size for correct fit
• Review/transmit essential paperwork for garments and services
• Manage inventory of Assure system kits and garments
• Maintain confidentiality as pledged
• Adhere to confidentiality and privacy policies
