Job summary

Schwartz Farms, Inc. is seeking a Wean-Finish Specialist to care for animals and maintain barns and equipment. You will monitor health and welfare, ensure proper feed and water access, and perform routine maintenance to keep operations running safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities include treating and vaccinating animals, recording production data, and upholding welfare and biosecurity standards while working as part of a team and sometimes independently.

Qualifications

• Care about animals and take pride in work.

• Lift at least 50 lbs.
• Willing to work rotating weekends/holidays and non-standard hours.
• PQA certification must be maintained.
• Valid driver's license and clean MVR.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

As a Wean-Finish Specialist, you'll help care for our animals and maintain the barns and equipment that keep our operations running safely and efficiently. Responsibilities include:

• Monitor animal health and welfare and provide daily care.
• Ensure animals have proper access to feed, water, and a healthy environment.
• Treat and vaccinate animals as needed.
• Monitor feed levels, feeders, watering systems, ventilation, and alarms.
• Respond to site alarms and communicate health or equipment concerns.
• Maintain accurate production and treatment records.
• Assist with barn cleaning, power washing, loading, and animal movement.
• Maintain clean, safe, and well-kept facilities.
• Follow all animal welfare and biosecurity standards.
• Perform routine equipment and facility checks and maintenance.
