Job summary

Argo Group in the United States is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Claims Trainee to join our team. This role supports adjudication of medical-only and low-complexity indemnity claims, working under close supervision from a Rockwood, PA manager and in a home-based position in New Mexico or at our Omaha office.

You will manage Black Lung claims, set reserves, coordinate with insureds and providers, and maintain thorough documentation while delivering timely, accurate payments.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• At least six years’ experience adjudicating medical-only workers’ compensation claims or in insurance/healthcare.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong time management and multitasking abilities.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough claim investigations by interviewing injured workers, employers, and providers.
• Manage medical-only claims and Black Lung claims previously reviewed with benefits approved.
• Set reserves and deny non-compensable claims with documentation for defense if challenged.
• Ensure timely and accurate medical payments and maintain thorough file documentation.
• Maintain diary and coordinate with stakeholders for timely resolutions.
