Job summary

Gulf Stream Marine, Inc. in Houston seeks an experienced Crane Operator to load and unload cargo at the terminal. You will operate friction cranes and lattice booms, follow signals, and follow all safety procedures to ensure efficient cargo handling.

Requirements include 2+ years in marine crane work, 1 year on heavy equipment, TWIC, and ability to work in a fast-paced team setting; NCCCO/NCCER preferred but not required. Weather and shift flexibility a must.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years marine crane operation experience.
• At least 1 year operating heavy equipment such as 9K, 30K or 52K forklift.
• Advanced knowledge of flag signaling used in cargo handling.
• Ability to read, write, and speak Basic English.
• Team-oriented, able to work independently with limited supervision.
• Able to establish effective working relationships.
• Commitment to safety; drug-free environment.
• TWIC is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate friction class cranes and lattice booms to lift/move materials and cargo.
• Control crane speed and direction per instructions and signals.
• Inspect crane daily for safety issues.
• Complete daily and weekly inspection and maintenance reports.
• Set up crane mats and outriggers before operations.
• Understand crane instrument panels and charts.
• Move load lines and booms as directed.
• Operate under Flagman signals and supervision.
