Job summary

Germer International seeks a full-time Field Service Engineer with mass spectrometry experience to service Waters Mass Spectrometry instruments across New England. Travel to customer sites is required to support instrument maintenance and repair for pharmaceutical labs, research institutions and pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.

Responsibilities include performing preventive maintenance, repairs, calibrations, documentation, and customer training, with emphasis on extending instrument

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience servicing mass spectrometry instruments, and experience with Waters Mass Spectrometry.
• Strong background in analytical instrumentation including HPLC and LCMS.
• Knowledge of electronics, mechanical assemblies and vacuum systems.
• Understanding of HPLC and mass spectrometry theory and how to interpret service documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular maintenance and repair of Waters MS instruments for customers in pharma labs, research institutions, and manufacturing facilities.
• Conduct preventative maintenance, repairs and calibrations; refurbish instruments as needed.
• Communicate with customers and account teams to troubleshoot, provide repair updates, and train end-users.
• Promote the customer’s long-term interests by extending instrument life.
• Maintain service logs and documentation; record reports, time entries, and parts usage.
• Follow on-site procedures, GxP protocols, safety rules and SOPs; represent the company professionally.
• Contribute technical expertise to resolve questions and identify new service opportunities.
• Attend training and participate in R&D to expand service capabilities.
