Jay Peak Resort is seeking a lifeguard to monitor swimming areas and assist guests, ensuring safety and adherence to park rules. The role requires strong swimming ability and attentive supervision in a fast-paced resort environment.

The position offers hourly pay with certification requirements (First Aid, CPR) and benefits such as sick time and a 401(k) plan after eligibility. Applicants must be 16 or older and available for flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certification in First Aid, CPR and NPWLTP (Must pass Ellis & Associates Lifeguard Training).
• Must be able to complete a 200 yard swim, tread water for 2 minutes with hands above water and retrieve a 10 pound brick from the bottom of an 8 foot pool and two additional deep water rescues.

Aufgaben

• Monitor pool areas and ensure guest safety at all times.
• Use the 10/20 scanning rule: recognize problems in 10 seconds and respond in 20 seconds.
• Supervise and provide surveillance of swimmers and guests during park hours and events.
• Enforce rules and regulations and take disciplinary measures when necessary.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in the waterpark and bag area.
