Job summary

Moffatt & Nichol's Waterfront Structural Engineering Internship for Summer 2027 invites students to join our Seattle or Federal Way office as entry-level interns. You will support project teams in structural tasks, produce basic drawings, models, calculations, and data sets under direct supervision, gaining exposure to core tools and workflows.

Qualifications include pursuing a Bachelor's in Structural or Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis, with a final-year student or preferred

Qualifications

Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Structural/Civil Eng with a structural emphasis.
Entering final year of degree after the summer of employment.
Master’s degree candidate preferred.
EIT certification preferred.
Experience with field investigations is a plus.

Responsibilities

Analysis and design of waterfront structures and maritime projects.
Structural analysis and design of marine structures including piers, wharves, bulkheads, seawalls, offshore platforms, and more.
Design using timber, structural steel, reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, aluminum, and composites.
Assist in development of plans, specifications, calculations, and reports.
Field investigations or inspections and coordination of design aspects.
Work with multi-discipline teams on projects.
Perform site and office inspections and prepare inspection reports.
Office construction administration including review of shop drawings and submittals.
Perform construction site inspections and prepare inspection reports.
