Job summary

Montauk Yacht Club, a Proper Hospitality property, is seeking a Restaurant Host who welcomes guests with warmth and professionalism. You will manage reservations, greet arrivals, and coordinate seating to ensure prompt, comfortable service.

As a frontline team member, you will communicate with servers and the kitchen, handle waitlists, answer questions about menus and events, and help maintain an organized, high-energy dining room during busy periods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in customer service or hospitality preferred.
• Familiarity with reservation systems and phone etiquette.
• Experience in high-volume environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and provide a warm, professional welcome.
• Manage reservations via phone, email, or reservation system.
• Update and maintain the waitlist; notify guests when their table is ready.
• Escort guests to tables and assist with seating arrangements.
• Coordinate with front-of-house and kitchen teams for smooth transitions.
• Respond to guest inquiries about menus, events, and policies.
• Support the team during busy periods and keep the dining area organized.
