Tighe & Bond, Inc. is seeking a Waterfront Group Leader to provide strategic leadership of our Waterfront and Coastal Team from any of our New England offices, guiding projects across the Northeast and beyond.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team delivering waterfront, marine, coastal, and resilience projects with a focus on growth and client collaboration. The role requires 15+ years in waterfront engineering, a PE license, and strong business development and leadership capabilities to drive

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Civil, Coastal, or Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in waterfront, coastal, or marine engineering.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong business development and client management experience.
• Familiarity with permitting and regulatory frameworks in the Northeast.
• Strategic mindset balancing technical leadership, operations, and growth.
• Strong communication and presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Set the strategic direction for the Waterfront and Coastal practice, including growth priorities, emerging markets, service offerings, and innovation opportunities.
• Build and strengthen relationships with public and private clients, regulatory agencies, and industry partners to identify and secure new opportunities.
• Guide practice staffing, resource planning, and team development.
• Mentor and develop engineering talent, fostering a collaborative culture built on technical excellence, career growth, and knowledge sharing.
• Serve as a senior advisor on complex waterfront and coastal infrastructure projects from planning and permitting through design and construction.
• Oversee project performance, including scopes, budgets, schedules, risk management, quality control, and client communication.
• Partner across disciplines and offices to deliver integrated solutions for environmental, infrastructure, and community challenges.
