Tighe & Bond is seeking a Waterfront Group Leader to provide strategic leadership of the Waterfront and Coastal Team from our New England offices. You will guide waterfront, coastal, marine, and resilience projects across the Northeast, partnering with public and private clients to deliver innovative solutions.

The role requires 15+ years of experience, a PE license, and proven ability to grow the practice, mentor staff, manage budgets, and navigate regulatory processes.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Civil, Coastal, or Environmental Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 15+ years in waterfront, coastal, or marine engineering.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and climate resilience projects.
• Strong business development and client management skills.
• Knowledge of Northeastern U.S. permitting and regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Set the strategic direction for the Waterfront and Coastal practice, including growth priorities, emerging markets, service offerings, and innovation opportunities.
• Build and strengthen relationships with public and private clients, regulatory agencies, and industry partners to identify and secure new opportunities.
• Guide practice staffing, resource planning, and team development so the right people are aligned with the right opportunities.
• Mentor and develop engineering talent, fostering a collaborative culture built on technical excellence, career growth, and knowledge sharing.
• Serve as a senior advisor on complex waterfront and coastal infrastructure projects from planning and permitting through design and construction.
• Oversee project performance, including scopes, budgets, schedules, risk management, quality control, and client communication.
• Partner across disciplines and offices to deliver integrated solutions for environmental, infrastructure, and community challenges.
