Job summary

The City of Winter Park is seeking Utility Service Workers I, II, and III to perform routine maintenance, repair, and installation of water and wastewater lines across the distribution system. Work is performed under supervision with responsibilities defined by division.

Requirements include a Florida CDL Class B with tanker endorsement, or progress toward CDL; high school diploma; and the ability to work in all weather, with occasional on-call after probation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• CDL Class B with tanker endorsement; or obtain CLP within 4 months and CDL within 12 months of hire.
• Two years of experience as a Utility Service Worker I with the City of Winter Park or equivalent outside employment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Florida State Water Distribution Class 3 License or Wastewater Collection “C” Certification within 1.5 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Water Distribution: install/repair mains, service lines, meters, hydrants, and respond to customer issues.
• Construction Services: install/repair valves, meters, hydrants, and street patches; control traffic.
• Wastewater Collection: repair/maintain mains, manholes, and pump stations; traffic control.
• Operate and maintain vehicles and tools; perform routine safety inspections.
• Be on-call after probation and support other departments as needed.
