Job summary

City of Winter Haven is hiring a Crew Leader I for the Water Department to lead a crew in the construction, maintenance, and repair of water and sanitary sewer systems. The role includes reading plans, directing field operations, and handling emergency responses.

Requirements include a Florida Class B license with appropriate endorsements, high school diploma, and minimum three years of relevant experience. On-site duties with after-hours availability are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction, maintenance, repair, and operation of water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
• Ability to read maps/plans and interpret policies/OSHA regulations.
• Must have high school diploma or equivalent; three years’ related experience preferred; asbestos abatement certification required within six months.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct a utility crew in water and sewer construction, installation, and repairs; supervise and evaluate crew work.
• Plan, schedule, and maintain records of time, materials, and labor for jobs; respond to after-hours emergencies.
