Job summary

DeSoto Board of County Commissioners (FL) seeks a skilled maintenance worker to inspect, service, and repair water and wastewater pump stations and treatment facilities. This role covers water distribution and wastewater collection systems with on-site duties at county facilities.

You will perform preventive maintenance, monitor records, respond to emergencies, and assist in safety practices; a Florida driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; three (3) years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain and repair water distribution and wastewater collection systems and facilities.
• Inspect, maintain and repair water and wastewater treatment plants and lift stations.
• Prepare routine reports and maintain daily records and logs.
• Follow preventive maintenance procedures for all distribution and collection components.
• Operate light maintenance equipment and use a variety of hand tools and power tools safely.
• Ensure job-site safety and assist in on-call emergency responses.
• Enter information into computer systems and interpret drawings/schematics for tasks.
