Job summary

Collier County is seeking a Water Distribution Technician to handle maintenance, repairs, and inspections of the county's water system. The role includes locating connections, installing valves, and performing preventive maintenance on pumps and pipes.

You'll respond to after-hours emergencies, assess service calls, and coordinate manpower and materials. A Florida driver’s license and multiple certifications are required, with on-the-job training and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 1 year of related experience.
• Fingerprinting required.

Responsibilities

• Perform water utilities maintenance tasks and locate service connections and breaks.
• Install, repair, or replace valves; maintain and paint pumps, motors, pipes, and hydrants.
• Respond to after-hours emergency calls when on call; assess water loss and determine needed manpower, equipment, and parts.
• Operate a wide range of machinery and tools used in department projects; ensure safety and efficiency.
• Monitor inventory levels and request new or replacement materials as needed.
