Job summary

The City of Maypearl seeks a skilled Water/Wastewater Maintenance Technician to perform a wide range of distribution and collection tasks, including installation, testing, and repair of systems and meters.

Leadership of small crews, safety-focused training, and on-call availability are required. A Texas Class C license is needed, with CDL and additional licenses obtainable within specified timeframes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 3 years of manual labor or related work.
• Valid Texas Class C driver's license; ability to obtain Class A CDL within 6 months.
• Experience with water distribution or mechanical systems; ability to operate related equipment.
• Must be able to obtain Class C Distribution license within 6 months and Class II Wastewater license within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain water/wastewater distribution systems and meters.
• Supervise small crews, provide input on performance evaluations, and ensure safety standards.
• Operate pumps, generators, and heavy equipment; perform routine maintenance.
• Respond to after-hours calls within 30 minutes and communicate with the public.
