Qualifications

• Valid State of Colorado Water and Wastewater II Operators Licenses required.
• HAZWOPPER certification required (current).
• Must complete drug/alcohol test and criminal record check.

Responsibilities

Scope of Work:

Provide operational support to the Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Responsibilities:

• Water Plant:
  1. Control treatment plant machines and equipment to purify and clarify water for human consumption and/or industrial use.
  2. Operate and control electric motors, pumps, and valves to regulate flow of raw water into treating plant and adjust automatic devices for chemical dosing.
  3. Operate agitators to mix chemicals and regulate water flow through filter beds.
  4. Clean tanks and filter beds, using backwashing, and repair machines and equipment.
  5. Test water samples to determine acidity, color, and impurities.
  6. Record data on chemical residuals, turbidity, and water pressure.
  7. May operate portable water-purification plant.
• Wastewater Plant:
  1. Operate sewage treatment and disposal equipment, monitoring control panels and adjusting valves as necessary.
  2. Start and stop pumps, engines, and generators to control sewage flow.
  3. Maintain logs of operations and meter readings.
  4. Direct wastewater treatment-plant attendants in routine operations and maintenance.
  5. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance as required.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
• Consistently produce quality products and services.
• Complete all training within required timelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Completion or GED Equivalent.
• HAZWOPPER certification required (current).
• Clear communication skills in English (oral and written).
• Good documentation and organizational skills.
• Ability to respond to calls for work outside of normal hours.
• Valid State of Colorado Water and Wastewater II Operators Licenses.
• Hepatitis vaccinations required for Wastewater Treatment Plant operators.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; readiness to learn PLC-based controls.
• Ability to interact well with others in a team setting.
• Ability to work under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to perform duties under adverse weather conditions.
• Valid state driver’s license and safe driving record required.
• Must successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check.
