Position Details:

Senior I.T. Cable Plant Installation Technician and Engineering Technician IV. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Purpose:

The Senior IT Cable Plant Installation Technician will support the buildup and modernization of DoD facilities, providing C4I/IT electronic systems equipment, infrastructure, engineering, design, installation, and support services within classified and secure spaces.

Pay:

$30.00 hourly

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct rack installation and cabling of electronic equipment and infrastructure supporting communication systems.
  • Pull, terminate, and dress Ethernet SM/MM and fiber optic cabling to MPO/MTP.
  • Install, test, and document cable, equipment, antennas, and supporting systems per the Installation Development Plan (IDP).
  • Maintain technical abilities and contribute to all phases of IT and AV infrastructure installation or upgrade.
  • Install racks, cabinets, and peripheral equipment; patch cabling in telecommunication closets and between end-user devices.
  • Update and maintain design documents, marking all 'as-built' changes.
  • Create and install labels for each cable at both ends.
  • Troubleshoot network infrastructure issues, coordinating with other disciplines as needed.
  • Perform Pre-Installation Test and Checkout (PITCO) activities and document test results.
  • Perform demolition and disposal of network and power infrastructure.
  • Support daily activities following company policies and supervisor instructions.
  • Engage in self-development and maintain equipment accountability and safety standards.
Compliance:

Promote a culture of compliance with all applicable rules and regulations, reporting any violations or concerns.

Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree, technical certification, or minimum five years supporting cabling and network systems installation and troubleshooting.
  • Minimum three years of experience with Microsoft Office.
Certificates and Licenses:
  • TS clearance required; SCI preferred.
  • BICSI Installer 2 Certification (Fiber and/or Copper).
Skills and Abilities:
  • Operational knowledge of PC systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of IT and AV systems, ability to interpret technical drawings, and troubleshoot network issues.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and team collaboration skills.
  • Ability to travel within a 50-mile radius as needed.
Language, Math, and Reasoning Skills:

Ability to interpret technical materials, perform mathematical calculations, and solve practical problems.

Physical Demands:

Must meet physical requirements including lifting, moving objects, working at heights, and exposure to various environmental conditions and hazards, with appropriate safety equipment.
