Scope of Work: Provide operational support to the Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Responsibilities:

• Water Plant:
  1. Control treatment plant machines and equipment to purify and clarify water for human consumption and or industrial use.
  2. Operate electric motors, pumps, and valves to regulate flow of raw water into treating plant and dump specified amounts of chemicals into water.
  3. Operate agitators to mix chemicals and allow impurities to settle, regulate water through filter beds to remove impurities, and monitor panel board and SCADA HMI.
  4. Clean tanks and filter beds, using backwashing, and repair and lubricate machines and equipment.
  5. Test water samples to determine acidity, color, and impurities.
  6. Record data such as residual content of chemicals and water pressure.
  7. May operate portable water-purification plant and purify wastewater from the plant.
• Wastewater Plant:
  1. Operate sewage treatment, sludge processing, and disposal equipment in the wastewater treatment plant.
  2. Start and stop pumps, engines, and generators to control flow of raw sewage.
  3. Maintain log of operations and records meter and gas readings.
  4. Give directions to wastewater treatment-plant attendants and sewage-disposal workers.
  5. Perform preventative and operational maintenance as required.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Completion or GED Equivalent.
• HAZWOPPER certification required (current).
• Must be able to clearly communicate in the English language.
• Good documentation and organizational skills.
• Must respond to calls for work outside of normal hours.
• Valid State of Colorado Water and Wastewater II Operators Licenses.
• Operators at Wastewater Treatment Plant must undergo Hepatitis vaccinations.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Must maintain licenses and/or credentials required for this position.
• Ability to work under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment.
• Must be able to perform duties under adverse weather conditions.
• Must have and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
• Must successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check.
