Job description

The Royal Gorge Bridge & Park has a unique opportunity for a Water and/or Wastewater Treatment Plant operator holding a Colorado Water D License or above. A Colorado B License is desired for ORC status. The park operates its own water and wastewater system with intake from the Arkansas River, source water. The water plant is a .05 mgd conventional filtration system and the wastewater plant is an extended aeration .018 mgd package plant.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate and monitor computers, related software programs, HMIs, SCADAs, and pumps.
  • Maintain knowledge of regulations, permitting, and recordkeeping required by the State of Colorado.
  • Calibrate equipment and collect test samples.
  • Have a working knowledge of both plant operations to cover when necessary.
  • Keep licensing current.
  • Work a 40-hour week including holidays, weekends, or emergencies as this is a 7-day operation.
  • Physical requirements include lifting, walking, and climbing.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license with a good record.
  • Undergo a background check and drug screen upon conditional offer of employment.

This is a full-time position with medical, dental, vision, LTD, and Life policies, sick time, and PTO.

Hourly Wage depending on License Status and Level of Experience: $20 to $28. Higher wage may be negotiated for ORC Status with A-B licensing.
