Job summary

City of Pflugerville is seeking Utility Maintenance Technicians I–III to maintain and operate the municipal water and wastewater facilities. Role involves inspecting and repairing lift stations, pumps, and treatment plants, with responsibilities expanding by level.

Technicians must perform electrical troubleshooting, operate up to 480 volts, and contribute to preventive maintenance programs. Lifting up to 80 lbs and on-call duties are expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required or alternative substitutions as stated.
• Experience maintaining water facilities and systems is preferred.
• Ability to learn technical concepts and procedures related to water/wastewater operations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain lift stations, water pump stations, and treatment facilities through daily inspections and repairs.
• Troubleshoot electrical controls, pumps, motors up to 480 volts; perform preventive maintenance.
• Keep maintenance logs, respond to emergencies 24/7, and ensure safe operation of tools and equipment.
• Assist in inventory monitoring and administrative duties to streamline maintenance workflows.
