Job summary

Austin Water is seeking a team-oriented maintenance assistant to support operations at water and wastewater facilities. You will work under supervision to perform grounds and facility maintenance and help with routine plant tasks.

Responsibilities include operating various equipment, reading gauges, maintaining records in CMMS, and assisting licensed operators with process control tasks. A safety-focused, reliable candidate is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent.
• Willingness to perform grounds and facilities maintenance tasks.
• Ability to read and interpret simple drawings and diagrams.
• Ability to operate and maintain basic equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Operate and inspect equipment such as backhoe, mower, and vacuum, and adjust chemical feeds as directed.
• Clean and maintain equipment and facilities.
• Assist plant operation and maintenance technicians with basic maintenance tasks.
• Read drawings, gauges, and meters; enter data using CMMS software.
• May act as a member of the confined space team and assist as entrant or supervisor.
