Job summary
The Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking a qualified Utilities Mechanic for the Water & Wastewater Services Operations Division. The UM performs skilled maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of water and wastewater systems, lift stations, and related mechanical equipment.
The UM is responsible for maintaining pipes, pumps, and control systems. Requires at least 1 year of mechanical maintenance/repair experience; valid Florida driver’s license; and relevant technical
Qualifications
- Requires one (1) year in mechanical maintenance/repair or closely related experience.
- Licensure: Florida Class E Driver's License (or area of assignment)
Responsibilities
- Repairs and maintains water and sewer mains, pumps and related equipment to ensure reliable service.
- Operates and maintains meters, hydrants, valves and associated control systems.
- Performs preventive maintenance and inspections on water/wastewater facilities and lift stations.
- Documents work orders and maintenance activities.
- Assists with installation, repair and testing of piping and hydraulic systems.
