Job summary

STV's Water/Wastewater internship offers undergraduate and graduate students hands-on design and field exposure, supporting licensed engineers with drawings, calculations, and analyses for water and wastewater facilities.

You will join a collaborative team, participate in meetings, and use CAE tools to assist documentation across design and construction phases while developing professional skills.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Interest in structural engineering within water/wastewater.
• Familiarity with structural analysis or design software is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist with structural design and analysis tasks for water and wastewater facilities under licensed engineers.
• Support development of structural plans, layouts, and design concepts.
• Prepare drawings, sketches, and calculations for construction documents.
• Research design options, codes, and standards for water/wastewater structures.
• Assist with basic calculations (heights, weights, concrete quantities, equipment fit-up).
• Support cost estimating, including quantity take-offs and vendor info.
• Review shop drawings and submittals with senior staff oversight.
• Participate in project meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members.
• Assist with field observations and documentation of conditions or construction progress.
• Use computer-assisted engineering and design software to support documentation and analysis.
