Job summary

Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Site Civil Project Engineer to support water and wastewater infrastructure projects with a strong focus on site design. The role will lead site layout, grading, drainage, and paving for complex projects across Southern California offices (Los Angeles, Irvine, Riverside, San Diego).

You will coordinate surveys, perform hydraulic calculations, and support permitting and construction through design completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or related engineering field.
• 7-15 years of civil/site design experience.
• California Civil P.E. license required.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design site layout plans including roads, grading, drainage and paving for water/wastewater projects.
• Coordinate with topographic surveys and survey controls.
• Conceptual and preliminary design, field visits, data collection, and analysis.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and support hydraulic modeling.
• Assist in permitting processes and evaluate design alternatives.
• Coordinate with sub-consultants and ensure design integration.
• Prepare technical memoranda, reports, and design deliverables.
• Provide construction-phase support with submittals and RFIs.
• Site reconnaissance and field investigations.
