Job summary

Hazen and Sawyer seeks a Field Project Engineer to coordinate construction of water and wastewater infrastructure. You will assist the Resident Engineer with construction management, coordination, and on-site inspection to ensure quality and contract compliance.

Requirements include a 3+ year field construction background, a bachelor’s in civil engineering or related field, and licenses/certifications such as PE/CCM/CMIT or EIT are advantageous. Some travel within the region may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years relevant construction management/inspection or design experience, preferably in water/wastewater.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Good verbal and communication skills.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn construction software such as PROCORE, Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Review project specifications and drawings.
• Provide document control and manage RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings.
• Maintain change order log and weekly meeting notes.
• Coordinate communication among contractor, design engineer, stakeholders, and owner.
• Perform field inspections for contract compliance.
• Prepare sketches and data for design engineers.
• Compile daily/weekly contractor progress reports.
